Q: What devices can I read from?
You can enjoy digital content on a variety of devices, including

Q. What is Nubereader?
This is Odilo's powerful HTML5 cloud-based reader that allows you to enjoy a title on any device, whether your desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile device. Nubereader also provides you with digital tools such as notes taking, highlighting, notes sharing, device synchronization, and many other features.
Q: Is there a mobile reading app?
Yes, there are Android, iOS and Windows 8.x mobile apps. EPUB and/or PDF eBooks can be also be enjoyed using the Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) software. Odilo's Nubereader also allows you to read from any device, including Kindles.
Q: Do I need an Adobe ID to register the Odilo reading app?
An Adobe ID is not required. Simply choose your library name from a drop-down menu, and enter your library barcode and PIN.
Q: How can I read from a Kindle?
Reading from Android powered Kindles is available using the Odilo App or cloud-based reader, Nubereader. Nubereader also works for Kindle e-ink devices with a browser and Wi-Fi or 3G/4G connection.
Q: Do I download audiobooks like eBooks?
Currently, audiobooks are available only through streaming.
Q: Can I read the same book from multiple devices?
Yes. The OdiloTK digital library automatically syncs to all your devices that have the Odilo App. You can check out and start reading an eBook on your iPad. Continue later on your PC, if you want to take notes. Pick up right where you have left off again on your Android device or phone. (Up to six different devices allowed).
Q: Can I customize my reading experience and change my reading options?
Yes, you can change your font size, line spacing, background color, font style, add bookmarks, make notes, highlight text and more.
Q: Can I make the eBook more like a large print book?
Yes. You are in control of your reading experience, whether font size, brightness, spacing, making notes, adding bookmarks, etc.
Q: Can I choose my own lending period?
Yes. Your library sets the maximum lending period, but you have the ability to choose your default lending period (or change at the point of checkout). Lending periods for each title can be 7, 14, or 21 days.
Q: How many titles can I check out at one time?
This is determined and decided by each library.
Q: How long can I access the title?
This is determined and decided by each library.
Q: How will I know that my hold on an eBook is ready?
If you place a hold on an eBook, you will be emailed when it is ready for pickup. Titles you have placed on hold will be automatically checked out to you when they become available. You will be able to access them from your my account section of the site. You will have a limited number of hours (determined by each library) from the time the email is sent to check out the title before your hold is cancelled.
Q: Can I renew a title I already have checked out?
While you are unable to renew a title, you can check it right back out (if there is not a hold on that title).
Q: How do I return my materials?
At the end of the lending period, titles automatically ‘expire’ and return to the library collection. Should you finish the book before the lending period expires, you can return your titles in the 'My Account' section of OdiloTK. Simply click on 'Checked out items' and click 'Return Now.'
Q: Can I return eBooks early?
Yes, but the titles are automatically checked in when the lending period expires so you don't need to manually return the materials.
Q: Are there any late fees on eBooks?
Q: Can I print pages from the eBooks or print my bookmarks?
Due to current publisher restrictions, there is no option to print content from the eBooks you borrow.
Q: Our library uses a proxy server, can our users authenticate using the proxy server and then get into ODILO without any additional authentication?
Unfortunately not. ODILO can restrict the IPs from which users are able to log in, but we need some sort of a unique identification to track checkouts.
Q: How does ODILO work with discovery services?
If the discovery service supports REST APIs, ODILO can work with them.
Q: How long does the patron have to check out a held title when it HAS become available?
This is a configurable option.
Q: How many devices can a title be downloaded to?
Users can use up to six different devices.
Q: I am unfamiliar with some titles of interest from our users, is it possible to preview a title before purchasing?
Yes. As an ODILO customer, staff that have been assigned permissions to purchase from OdiloPlace can preview a title before purchasing.
Q: Do we own the perpetual content we purchase?
o Yes. Any titles purchased under the perpetual access rights as assigned by the publisher or content owner should remain property of your library. As such, should you decide to leave ODILO, you may transfer over your perpetual content to an approved digital content platform with publisher permission.
q: What does ODILO offer to libraries to help market and promote its ODILO purchase?
ODILO offers a number of customizable marketing documents to introduce ODILO to your community including: training tutorials, FAQs, press releases, one sheets, and templates for bookmarks, posters, and more.
Q: What is Odilo eBookClub?
eBookClub is ODILO’s online interactive and engaging literary experience for communities or educational institutions. Through the digital library, users can easily subscribe to different digital book clubs, providing them with access to participate in threaded and live discussions, view milestones, and see past titles read. Once an eBookClub member, users can immediately access the book(s) through the streamed Odilo Nubereader (no download necessary) and instantly share highlighted passages and comments with others; eBookClub members can also download the title using the ODILO app. In addition, eBookClubs can be administered and facilitated by library staff or users (with proper authentication by library staff).
Q: What reporting is available?
Today, you can utilize the OdiloTK admin platform to see what books are being checked out and traditional eBook statistics. eBookClub's admin site allows you to see the number of members for each club, who those members are, their reading statistics (e.g. how long they've read for, how many pages, etc.), and any questions and/or quizzes answered.
Q: Do private book clubs show up for all patrons when logged in?
When a patron is logged in, they will see all bookclubs available to the public. Private bookclubs are by invitation only and will not be visible to nonmembers.
